Common Questions

What is East Side Tide?

East Side Tide is a club lacrosse program in the East Metro of the Twin Cities, founded in 2025. It builds development-focused teams and skills training for youth and high-school players, with a model centered on small group sizes, high reps, and individually tailored coaching. The program is based in Woodbury, Minnesota, and its rally cry is “Roll with The Tide.”

Where is East Side Tide based?

East Side Tide is based in Woodbury, Minnesota, in the East Metro of the Twin Cities. Its primary indoor training facility is ES Lacrosse Woodbury. As a service-area club, East Side Tide serves families across the East Metro rather than operating a public storefront, with supplemental tryout and outdoor venues used at times during the season.

What areas and counties does East Side Tide serve?

East Side Tide serves the East Metro of the Twin Cities — Woodbury, Stillwater, Cottage Grove, Oakdale, the St. Paul east side, and Hudson, WI, plus Mahtomedi, Lake Elmo, Afton, Inver Grove Heights, Hastings, and White Bear Lake. That footprint spans Washington County, parts of Ramsey and Dakota counties, and St. Croix County in Wisconsin. Players travel to the club’s Woodbury training home from across these communities for teams and skills programs.

When was East Side Tide founded?

East Side Tide was founded in 2025. Its first tryouts were held outdoors in August 2025 at Colby Lake Park in Woodbury. For its first summer season (2026), the program moved its training indoors to ES Lacrosse Woodbury and expanded its offerings, adding a U12 age group and a slate of summer teams and positional training sessions.

What makes East Side Tide different from other clubs?

East Side Tide is built on five pillars: small group sizes with low player-to-coach ratios, high reps per session, individually tailored coaching, a convenient East Metro location at ES Lacrosse Woodbury, and a budget-friendly price. The model is development-focused — more training, more practice, and more games — designed to give each athlete more touches and individual attention than a typical club.

Is East Side Tide a boys or girls program?

East Side Tide’s current published programs are boys club lacrosse teams and training. Its first tryouts in August 2025 were for boys, and its summer teams and skills sessions follow boys age and grad-year groupings. Families interested in other offerings are encouraged to contact East Side Tide directly to ask about current availability and any planned additions.

What age groups and grad years does East Side Tide field?

For the 2026 summer season, East Side Tide fields teams for U12 and U14 players plus grad-year groups 2028/2029, 2030/2031, and 2032/2033. For Summer 2027 the club grows to U10, U12, and U14 teams plus a high school team for 2028–2030 grads — rosters form at the 2027 tryouts, with groupings designed to keep every session age-appropriate.

How are East Side Tide summer teams structured?

Each East Side Tide summer team runs a full season of team practices plus positional training sessions, along with games and tournaments — the volume is tuned to each age group. Teams are based at ES Lacrosse Woodbury. The structure is designed to combine team practice volume with dedicated positional work so players develop both team concepts and individual skills over the course of the summer.
